WHY HAS HARRY STYLES PARTNERED with TICKETMASTER VERIFIED FAN® in the U.S. + Canada?

Harry cares about his fans and understands there are going to be more people who want to see him on tour than there will be available tickets. He’s committed to getting tickets in the hands of fans. Not scalpers or bots. So he’s collaborating with Ticketmaster to sell tickets for his tour in the U.S. + Canada exclusively through the #VerifiedFan platform – a unique technology that allows us to separate fans from scalpers and bots to distribute tickets more fairly.

We want to help as many of you as possible to see Harry Styles on the North American leg of his tour. As the #VerifiedFan Onsale approaches, here are some tips to help answer any questions.

Please note: The #VerifiedFan Onsale is the only way to purchase tickets for the North American tour dates. Registering does not guarantee you will receive a code and receiving a code does not guarantee you will get tickets.

A: The Harry Styles Official Website has the full list of dates for the tour.

Q: If my parent uses their credit card to buy, does the person’s whose name is on the card have to attend the show?

A: No. The tickets will be in the Ticketmaster account holder’s account. (Remember, receiving a code does not guarantee tickets.)

Q: You said tickets are only available to purchase through #VerifiedFan but why do I see tickets available to purchase on other sites without using an official offer code?

A: Ticketmaster is the only official ticketing partner for Harry Styles Live On Tour. Many unofficial sellers will list tickets even before they go on sale. This practice is called speculative listing and fans should not trust resellers claiming to have tickets. Those speculative listings are not real tickets in hand. Beware of these sellers.

Ticketmaster Assistant for Facebook Messenger is here!

We’re all talking to our newest co-worker here at Ticketmaster HQ but it’s oddly quiet except for some LOLs bubbling up from people’s desks. How is it that we can all fire off questions at once and amazingly each one of our queries is being answered in detail in real time?

Today our mission of getting more fans to the live events they love expands to a new platform with the launch of a Ticketmaster bot for Messenger: Ticketmaster Assistant.

Ticketmaster Assistant for Messenger is here to help fans discover and search for live events around the world. Think of it as that friend who always knows what’s happening and has all the details – whether it’s for a tour that was just announced or last minute tickets to tonight’s game, our Messenger chatbot has you covered.

As the global market leader in ticketing, Ticketmaster has the widest selection of live events that spans music, sports, theater, comedy, and more around the world and now we are bringing the ability to easily search that vast selection to the fingertips of the 1 billion+ people using Messenger each month.

Ticketmaster Assistant for Messenger helps fans discover and search for events by date, location, genre, or specific artist and it’s super easy (and fun) to use and since you probably already have Messenger, you already have access: https://m.me/TicketmasterAssistant.

Start with a simple, “What’s happening tonight?” and see all the live event options in your area including concerts, sports, arts & theater, comedy and more.

Or get more specific from the beginning, “Is Lady Gaga playing in New York this year?” – spoiler alert: she is and we have tickets available, but don’t take our word for it, ask for yourself.

Going on a trip? Ticketmaster Assistant will be happy to help you find something to do wherever you are. You can also set a home city to make your conversations go even faster. (While the search data covers 83 countries, currently the global experience is provided in English.)

And because your friends are already on Messenger it makes rallying the crew that much easier. Cutting and pasting is so 2016, use Ticketmaster Assistant to share links directly in Messenger. Buy tickets with a link that drops you seamlessly into the purchase experience at Ticketmaster, or learn more information about the event.

Ticketmaster Assistant is built using our APIs and we’ll continue to update the bot, streamline the purchase experience and add in more personality – but it’s already got some jokes…

Ticketmaster is committed to getting tickets into the hands of fans. The ability to build new automated capabilities like bots for Messenger is another step forward in that commitment, allowing us to interact with fans in engaging, new ways.

Our aim is to meet fans wherever they are and make it as easy as possible for more of them to get tickets to the live events they love.

Any fan. Any ticket. Anywhere.

Add artists to your favorites to get notified when they come to a town near you. You’ll always know when the next big event is headed your way and when tickets go on sale.
Get An Account | Add Favorites

2. Sign In Ahead Of Time
Every second counts. Speed your way through checkout by storing your billing info ahead of time.

3. Keep Your Info Up-to-Date
Make sure your current credit card, address, and phone information are on file in My Account to make checkout as seamless as possible.

4. Don’t Use Public Wi-Fi
Public Wi-Fi networks can slow you down when you’ve got limited time on your hands.

5. Get Our App
Download the Ticketmaster App for iOS or Android. for the best way to purchase tickets. The Ticketmaster app lets you keep our entire inventory in your pocket.

6. Use Multiple Devices
You can purchase from a phone, laptop, or tablet. But make sure you only use one browser (or browser tab) on each device, or else the system might think you’re a bot and cancel your tickets.

7. Split Up
The fewer tickets you search for, the better chances you’ll have to score seats. Have more than one person in your group buy tickets and sit apart if you have to. You can still carpool.

8. Keep Checking Back
Sometimes additional tickets are released a few hours before an event. Resale tickets will also be available, so check in regularly.

9. Buy Verified Resale Tickets
Even if you don’t score tickets right away, Ticketmaster has your back with Verified Resale Tickets. Unlike other ticket resellers, Ticketmaster Verified Resale Tickets are 100% guaranteed to get you in to see JAY-Z on the 4:44 TOUR. Unofficial ticket sellers can only “guarantee” they’ll give you a refund if something goes wrong, but wouldn’t you prefer knowing your ticket is real?

Turn on the resale slider above the venue’s seating chart to find the seats that are available. Just look for this logo:

2016-02-15_12-03-17

10. Double Check the Date & Time When Tickets Go On Sale
Check the list below for local on sale dates, and for more important JAY-Z ticket sales details. Then, set as many reminders as you need to get in line for tickets as soon as they go on sale.

UPDATED: 12.04.17

Get Ready For Your Taylor Swift Tix Presale

…Ready For It? Tuesday, December 5 is the first day of the Taylor Swift Tix presale. You’ve worked hard to get your place in line and you are being rewarded with a unique presale program with the best selection of tickets. The Taylor Swift Tix presale will be very different from past Verified Fan presales. Below are important details to have a positive ticket buying experience for Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour.

PRESALE

How do I prep for my purchase?
  1. Login to your Ticketmaster account in advance on the device from which you intend to purchase tickets. NOTE: You must log in with the same email and password used for your Taylor Swift Tix registration.
  2. Be ready to lock in those perfect tickets and bragging rights! Login to My Account to confirm your credit card is valid and reflects the correct billing information. Take the time now instead of rushing later – remember, your ticket purchase is on the clock.
  3. Once you select your tickets and continue to checkout, you may experience a longer than usual wait time. If this happens, do not refresh the page during this time.
  4. Don’t look like a bot! Do not use more than one broswer window. Opening multiple windows or tabs to purchase tickets may result in errors, or even flag you as a scalper resulting in totally being blocked from buying.
  5. To allow as many fans as possible to experience Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour, there is a strict six (6) ticket limit.

When is the Presale?

#TaylorSwiftTix Presale kick off times for each day below:

  • Tuesday, December 5 at 4PM ET / 1PM PT
  • Wednesday, December 6 at 3PM ET / Noon PT
  • Thursday, December 7 at 3PM ET / Noon PT
  • Friday, December 8 at 3PM ET / Noon PT

What is the ticket limit?

To allow as many fans as possible to experience Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour, there is a strict six (6) ticket limit.

How will I complete my ticket purchase?
  • Access codes will be distributed one-by-one in order of each participant’s final standing in line.
  • On Saturday, you were given your 1-hour presale window. You should expect your code to arrive during that window. It is possible we may slow down code distribution to ensure the smoothest shopping experience for all. Don’t worry if that happens: your place in line will not change, and those in future windows will not move ahead of you.
  • When your access code arrives we encourage you to shop right away, if you can. Your code is good until December 12, but your fellow Swifties are not going to wait. Find and buy your tickets while the selection is best – after all, that’s what you worked for.
  • You will receive your code via text, along with a link to the tour page. Click the link in your text, or type in the link exactly as it appears in your computer browser.
  • When you land on the tour page, you will be prompted to enter your access code. Enter your code exactly as it appears in your text. Next, choose your event from the list. Then, enter your access code once more to shop for tickets.

CODE DELIVERY

When should I expect my presale code?

On Saturday, you were given your 1-hour presale window. You should expect your code to arrive during that window.

It is possible we may slow down code distribution to ensure the smoothest shopping experience for all. Don’t worry if that happens: your place in line will not change, and those in future windows will not move ahead of you.

Does getting a access code mean I will get tickets?

You will have the opportunity to shop from available tickets, however, due to demand the ability to purchase tickets is not guaranteed.

The Presale has started, I registered and never received my access code?

Access codes will be distributed one-by-one in order of each participant’s final standing in line. On Saturday, you were given a 1-hour presale window. You should expect your code to arrive during that window.

Why didn’t my #VerifiedFan Presale code work?

You may have maxed out your ticket limit. Due to demand, each #VerifiedFan Presale has a ticket limit to allow more fans like you to get tickets. Purchasers are held to a strict six (6) ticket limit maximum. Due to demand, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Is there a presale?

Yes, Taylor Swift Tix presales begin on December 5 (see above for more info).

Is there a way to purchase tickets other than the Taylor Swift Tix #VerifiedFan Presale?

Following the presale, there will be a General Public Onsale beginning on Wednesday, December 13 at 10AM local venue time.

Can I purchase accessible seats through the Taylor Swift Tix #VerifiedFan Presale?

Yes, accessible seating will be available through the Taylor Swift Tix #VerifiedFan presale. When you shop for tickets, please make sure you select the option to shop for available accessible seats.

If my parent uses their credit card to buy, does the person whose name is on the card have to attend the show?

No. The tickets will be in the Ticketmaster account holder’s account. (Remember, receiving a code does not guarantee tickets.)

You said tickets are only available to purchase through #VerifiedFan but why do I see tickets available to purchase on other sites without using an official access code?

Ticketmaster is the only official ticketing partner for Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour. Many unofficial sellers will list tickets even before they go on sale. This practice is called speculative listing and fans should not trust resellers claiming to have tickets. Those speculative listings are not real tickets in hand. Beware of these sellers. Ticketmaster x YouTube

Ticketmaster’s priority has long been to make it easier for you to discover events and get tickets into your hands, and thanks to a partnership with YouTube, there’s a new way to find out about your favorite artists’ concerts.

Artists’ official YouTube channels now have concert event listings integrated right into the pages!

This year alone, Ticketmaster is on track to deliver nearly half a billion tickets to tens of millions of fans attending their favorite events. Now, we’re bringing the ability to easily find that vast selection of events to YouTube’s massive fan base.

YouTube Integration

Here’s how it works: while watching an artist’s official music video on YouTube, you’ll see upcoming U.S. tour date information (this has already been rolled out for hundreds of artists) appearing just below their videos. You’ll also notice that events closest to your location are listed first. From there, simply click on the “Tickets” button for the show you prefer, and you’ll be redirected to Ticketmaster where you can grab seats to the hottest shows, from massive stadiums to the coolest clubs.

That’s it! You now have your Ticketmaster Verified Ticket. No hassles and no problems.

With YouTube and Ticketmaster both having massive audiences of music lovers, this integration is a natural fit. That same fit is also what makes the experience so seamless across desktop and mobile (including YouTube Red members).

We’ll continue to expand event listings for all artists in North America with plans to expand globally.

We’re always thinking of ways to help you discover concerts and get tickets to the shows you love.

Enjoy the show.

Late last year, Ticketmaster unveiled a new Google Assistant action to help you find and buy tickets. Now we’re taking that experience to a whole new level with none other than the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne!

With the announcement of Ozzy’s latest tour, No More Tours 2, the hard rock legend and his wife, Sharon, have unveiled a new and exciting way for fans to discover more out about his exhaustive North American trek.

Try it out for yourself. Using Google Assistant or Google Home, say, “Hey Google, talk to Ticketmaster.” In response, you’ll hear one of six different messages from Ozzy himself. From there, Sharon pops in to invite you to hear the full list of tour dates.

Next, you’ll be invited to link your Ticketmaster account, which makes buying tickets via Google super simple. And once you’re all done, go ahead and say, “Goodbye,” to receive an outgoing message from Ozzy.

This first-of-its-kind experience is live on Google Assistant on your phone and other compatible devices, and will be available until tickets go on sale February 17.

Ticketmaster. Google Assistant. Ozzy. No More Tours 2. All aboard!

Safe & Secure Ticket-Buying Tips

We know you’re super excited to attend that upcoming event. But before you purchase tickets, we wanted to review a few ticket-buying tips (and perks of shopping with Ticketmaster) to ensure your live experience is the best one.

All the tickets. All the time
With Ticketmaster, you always have access to the easiest and safest way to purchase tickets. From our bot-fighting technology to Verified Tickets, you can trust Ticketmaster when you’re shopping for tickets to your next day or night out.

With Fan-to-Fan Resale, Ticketmaster is never sold out
Did you know Ticketmaster also has fan-to-fan resale? Indeed: You can still get into events you thought were sold out with tickets sold by fans–and Verified by Ticketmaster! This means there’s a lot less “missing out,” and a lot more “going out.”

Because safe and secure matters
We guarantee the seat you buy is the seat you get. Other sites may offer a money back guarantee or “comparable” seats if something goes wrong. But with Ticketmaster, tickets transferred or resold to you are 100% Verified and reissued to you, so they can’t be counterfeited.

Plans change. Sell your tickets on Ticketmaster
Life happens. Schedules change. Which is why we want to give you as many options as possible after you’ve bought tickets. All with the trust and confidence that only comes with using Ticketmaster. When you purchase with Ticketmaster, you have the peace of mind knowing you have access to the easiest way to list and sell your Verified Tickets.

Learn more about selling your tickets on Ticketmaster, head over to our Help Center.

We also have a few safe ticket tips we encourage every shopper to practice.

Buy “official” tickets
We always recommend buying tickets from official sources, like Ticketmaster or the venue Box Office. This way if an event is canceled, postponed or you need to make changes, you have options.

Just say “NO” to fake tickets
If you’re thinking about purchasing tickets on unofficial sites or at the venue from someone on the street, you’re taking a big risk. If the tickets turn out to be fake, you will have no way to get your money back.

Cover the code
We get it – you’re super excited to tell the world you got one of the most coveted tickets by posting it on social. But, please follow one simple rule before doing so: Cover the code! Scalpers can take these images and make counterfeits – potentially invalidating your tickets.

Now that we’ve covered some of the ways to shop and how to do if safely, we hope you’re on the way to finding your next perfect ticket.

You Got Tickets! How to Prepare for Your Concert

$

YOU’RE IN!
You scored tickets to that artist you’ve been dreaming of seeing for weeks, months, or maybe even years. Go ahead and take a second to bask in the satisfaction, and then get ready to rock with these helpful tips on how to prepare for the concert.

Right After You Purchase Tickets

  • Set a Budget
Expenses can stack up quickly – food, drinks, gas, parking, merchandise, a new outfit. Try to estimate your costs ahead of time so you can set aside some dough.
  • Listen to Songs
There’s nothing better than belting out your favorite tunes with the artist and the other fans in the crowd. Practice the lyrics in your car with a playlist from Spotify or go old school with a mix CD.
  • Plan Your Concert Outfit
A concert is a great time to show off your personal fashion. Do you want to go cool and sexy? Or is it time to let your freak flag fly? Get your ensemble together now so your look is on point at the show. Here are some tips what to wear to concert.
Go ahead and share your excitement on social media – it’s a great way to find out if anyone else you know is going. You can also send a shout out to the band or artist to let them know you’re stoked – who knows, they may even re-Tweet you!

Pro tip:
Do not post pictures of your tickets online ahead of the event
, and if you do, please make sure to cover your barcodes! This will prevent anyone from using the unique codes to steal your seats. Cover the code! We cannot express this point enough, please do NOT take photos of your ticket stubs and post them on social media sites. This is the perfect way for nefarious brokers to rip these tickets right off you. We want you to enjoy this experience, it’s meant for you. So please take the extra precautions so you can enjoy the night and avoid heartache. Read more about #CoverTheCode

  • Follow the Artist, Venue & Event
Keep an eye on social streams for special messages (and special offers) as the show nears. Plus, if the band or artist releases any new music, you’ll always have the inside scoop.

Days Before The Concert

  • Confirm Your Entry Method
Whether you go paperless and enter using your mobile device or print your tickets at home, make sure you have everything you need to get in to the event. Most venues offer the following ticket options – click the links for more details and double check your event and ticket order for more information.

Print-at-Home
US Mail
Credit Card Entry (Paperless tickets)
Mobile Entry Will Call
Retail Outlet Pickup
UPS
Transfer Tickets

Take Control Of Your Tickets

Apple Store Google Play

  • Map Your Directions
Take the stress and confusion out of getting to the venue by mapping your route beforehand. If you’re using an app for directions, you can even save the venue’s address so you’ll be ready to go.
  • Figure Out Parking
Looking for parking at the last minute can be a serious buzzkill. Avoid the hassle by researching parking options and identifying nearby lots ahead of the event.
  • Confirm Event Start & Departure Time
If you’re attending with others, make sure you confirm when the show starts. Check the event info to find out when the doors open and when warm-up acts take the stage. Make sure everyone is on the same page in your group and confirm a departure time that allows for traffic.
  • Make a Dinner Reservation
All that rocking is bound to make you hungry. While all-night diners are a safe bet, you can also class it up with a fancy reservation before or after the show.

Concert Essentials Checklist

Wondering what to bring? Every event is different, so check the venue’s policies before packing for your show. Then, make a checklist of your concert essentials so you don’t leave anything behind.

Don’t forget your:

  • Ticket
  • ID
  • Cash
  • Fully charged phone
  • Earplugs
  • Light sweater

Heading to an outdoor concert or festival?
Then we suggest bringing these additional items. View more festival essentials here.

  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat

The Day of the Concert

  • Don’t Skip Any Meals
Make sure you stay energized and start the day with a good breakfast. Also, eating a healthy lunch will prevent your tummy from rumbling in the middle of the show.
  • Stay Hydrated
Drink lots of water before, during, and after the concert to make sure that you don’t pass out in the middle of your favorite song.
  • Get Mobile-Ready
Make sure your phone is charged and sign in to your favorite social media accounts before you go into the event, since you can’t always count on cell reception. And if you’ve opted for a mobile ticket, open it up BEFORE you get to the event.
  • Review Your Checklist
It’s never hurts to check twice before you head out.
  • Be Ready for Will Call
If you’re picking up your tickets at the event, it’s important to review the venue’s will call information. Oftentimes, all you need to bring is your ID or purchasing credit card to redeem your tickets, but be sure to double check venue policies.
  • Get There On Time or Early
Don’t miss a single beat. Arriving early gets you first dibs on food, drinks, merchandise, and amenities like coat check. Plus, you can get to the front of the stage without having to push your way through the crowd.
  • Choose a Meet Up Spot
Before the show, select an easy-to-spot meeting place. If you get separated from your friends (or someone’s cellphone dies), you can all rendezvous at a familiar location. Cell phone reception can be hit or miss at some venues, so it’s important to have a game plan before you rock out.
  • Have Fun!
You’re in. Have a great time. Oh! After the event is over, and you’re sporting that post-event glow, tell others about how it went. Share your concert or event experience with other fans by submitting a review at Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster Account Manual: Your Ultimate User Guide

When it comes to live events, your Ticketmaster account is equal parts helping hand, secret weapon, and trusty BFF that makes sure you never miss out.

You’re probably already familiar with the basics: you can buy tickets to hot concerts, big games, and acclaimed theater shows with your Ticketmaster account – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

From selling and transferring tickets, to getting customized alerts and offers so you never miss the events you love – there’s so much more to harnessing the features of your very own Ticketmaster account. It’s a super powerful tool that puts awesome features right at your fingertips.

If you’re already signed in, here’s how to access your My Account page: just hover over your name on the Ticketmaster homepage, wait for the menu to drop down, and click on ‘Your Account.’

Don’t see your name? Simply sign in and follow these same steps to access your account and everything it unlocks for a personalized live event experience.

Here’s a full rundown of all the helpful things you can do with your Ticketmaster account so you can live it up at even more live events.

1. Transfer tickets to a friend or another excited fan.

Transferring tickets from your account is super easy and completely free. Whether you bought tickets for friends or want to give your tickets to someone because you can’t make it, we’ve got you covered.

So how do you transfer? Simple: just go to your account and click the Transfer button on your Event Detail page for the show you can no longer attend, then follow the simple steps. If your button is Blue, it means Transfers are available for your event. Grey means the event doesn’t accommodate Transfers. If you take advantage of an offered Transfer, the recipient will get an email to complete the transfer, and you’ll get an email as soon as they accept. Bam!

2. Sell your tickets if you can’t make it after all.

It happens: you’re beyond excited to go to an event, then something comes up and you can’t make it. The good news is you can sell your tickets to another fan right from your Ticketmaster account. It doesn’t cost you anything to sell and it’s 100% safe for both you and the buyer – you get paid and they get in to the event with total assurance.

To sell, look for the Sell button on your order in your account – it’ll be blue with two arrows in a circle formation. Then just follow the simple steps to set your price and enter your debit card or checking account info for hassle-free payment when tickets sell. And of course, you can always edit or remove your listing if you change your mind.

3. Add Favorites and never miss your most-loved act again.

We hate to play favorites, but this is probably the most fun feature in your account (see what we did there?)

Favorites are great because they’re all about you – and the stuff you’re into. Add your favorite artists, teams, shows, and venues to tell us what you want to see, and we’ll tell you before tickets go on sale. Plus you’ll get other insider perks like presales and special offers for your favorite artists. You can even get a comprehensive update of any upcoming dates when your Favorites are coming to your area.

But you don’t have to wait for us to ping you – you can add, remove, or see which of your faves have upcoming events at any time by visiting Favorites in your account.

Click through this gallery to check out how all your Favorites get followed, and the show listings you’ll receive when they come back to your town.

4. Update your Event Categories to see all sorts of new and exciting things you may not have known about before.

Sure, you attend a lot of concerts – but how about trying out a new genre? How about local festivals in your area? What if someone you love wants to cheer on their favorite team, or your parents want to catch that theater production before final curtain call? Expand your Categories of Interest and you’ll get even more updates on the best events to attend across every possible type that Ticketmaster has to offer.

5. Stay in touch over email and mobile.

Ticketmaster emails are totally customizable – so you can get all the info you want, and nothing you don’t.

To manage what you receive from us, head to Edit Subscriptions in your account to select the types of alerts, offers, and tips you want to get, both via email and mobile alert.

6. Make your onsale checkouts smoother than ever by storing your payment info.

Update payment info

This is arguably the least sexy of all the account features, but hey, it’s important – keeping your payment info up to date means you won’t have to waste precious time entering billing information during a busy onsale.

So make sure to update your payment info, and ace that onsale like a boss.

The live event experience is all the more a snap with our app.

As you’ve read, there’s so much you can do with a Ticketmaster account, and you can do it with ease of your own rhythm on our free apps for iOS and Android. Stay up-to-date with all of your Favorites, make any necessary transactions, get in the door with the scan of a mobile ticket, and expand your event horizons in one simple place – all on the go.

5 Tips for Going to a Concert Alone

$
0
0

Contrary to popular belief, going to a concert alone can be a rewarding experience. In fact, in many ways, it’s better to go it alone than to attend with friends – especially if you get inspired to check out a new band at the last minute.

Use these simple tips and you’ll be sure to have a great time flying solo at your next concert.

Tip #1: Don’t Over Think It

via GIPHY

When you arrive at the concert, and you’re standing around by yourself, it’s only natural to feel out of place. But as Patrick McNamara of Vice puts it, “nobody cares.” In fact, most people won’t even notice you’re by yourself. They’re paying attention to the music, not to you. So get over it and enjoy the show.

Tip #2: Stay On The Move

via GIPHY

If you’re unable to get over the fact that you’re alone, a simple solution is to keep moving. Assuming your concert tickets don’t have assigned seating, staying on the go is easy. And if someone is actually paying attention to you (which they’re most certainly not) they won’t have time to establish that you’re by yourself.

Tip #3: Use It As An Excuse To Socialize

via GIPHY

So you couldn’t get any friends to go to the concert with you. Sounds like your friends are lame. Just kidding! Luckily, the concert is a great way to meet new people. And since everyone there is probably interested in the same band or from the local area, you already have something to talk about and break the ice with.

Tip #4: Just Make Something Up

via GIPHY

If you’re really that embarrassed about attending alone, and someone actually asks you about it, just lie. “I’m covering the show for (insert local music blog here)” or “My girlfriend had to cancel at the last minute because she had a photo shoot in Paris… you know because she’s a super model” are both popular options, but feel free to get creative. Most likely you won’t need to come up with any excuses, but just having one prepared in your head might help make you feel more confident in the crowd.

Tip #5: Be Present

via GIPHY

It’s important to note that all of the previous tips are predicated on the simple truth that live music brings people together, and you belong here just as much as anyone else. So go for it. Go to the show, start a conversation, and jam out to your favorite song without any distractions. And don’t go staring at your phone’s screen the entire time because you’re nervous. You deserve to have a great time, so keep your head up!

Music discovery can be all the more incredible when you go it alone, and you can get in the door last-minute with Ticketmaster. Check out the wide array of concerts worth checking out around Los Angeles below.

Global K-Pop sensation BTS is coming to North America!

Coming off the heels of sold out shows last fall, their upcoming stadium run kicks off on Saturday, May 4th at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles before heading to Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday, May 11 and ending at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Saturday, May 18th.

North American tickets will go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10AM Venue Local time.

Let’s get you ready with everything we know.

Where to see BTS in North America

Saturday, May 4th:  Pasadena, CA – Rose Bowl

Saturday, May 11th: Chicago, IL – Soldier Field

Saturday, May 18th: East Rutherford, NJ – MetLife Stadium

All tickets go on sale on Friday, March 1 at 10AM Venue Local time.

How to Get Ready to Shop for Tickets

With sold out shows last fall and excitement growing, we expect demand for tickets to be exceptionally high. We are committed to fighting ticket bots so that more tickets get into the hands of fans. This means this ticket sale will work a little differently than what you may expect. This sale will use the newest ticket technology, a Queue that acts as a virtual line – blocking bots and fighting malicious technology.

Here’s what you can expect on the day of the sale:

1. Sign in to Ticketmaster at least 10 minutes before the sale begins and locate the date you wish to shop for. Reminder: Make sure your payment info in your Account is current.

2. The Waiting Room will open 10 Minutes prior to the event going on sale. You’ll want to join before the sale begins. Those who join the Waiting Room before the sale begins will be provided a random place in the Queue. If you join after the sale begins, you will be placed at the end.

3. When the sale begins, you will be moved into the Queue and additional information will be provided. While you’re waiting to shop, please do not refresh, close, or leave the page.

4. When it’s your turn to shop, you’ll use the map to select your seats, then proceed to checkout. Due to high-demand, tickets will be available first-come, first-served, and are not guaranteed.

Shopping Tip: If you’re planning to shop for an event on your mobile device, do not allow your screen to dim or your Waiting Room will pause. Also, resist the urge to refresh. Your page will automatically refresh when you enter the Queue.

While we know that every fan may not be able to get tickets, this will help ensure that we keep tickets out of the clutches of bots.

Why are there tickets already for sale on other sites?

In addition to bots, a growing problem that we fight against daily is a practice called “Speculative Listing” (Spec Listing) or “Speculative Tickets.” A Spec Listing is when unofficial sellers list tickets for sale even though they do not actually have those tickets. They are betting (or speculating) that they will be able to get tickets and then resell them to fans. To learn more about Spec Tickets, head over to https://blog.ticketmaster.com/spec-ticketing/

Check when tickets are available, even once they’re on sale.

Keep up-to-date with the latest ticket news on Twitter. If anything changes with these tickets – anything at all – our social followers will be the first to know about it.

Smart Queue: The Latest Way to Shop for Ticket to Popular Events

We’ve all been there: ready and waiting to buy the perfect tickets to see our favorite artist, show, or team. The clock strikes 10AM, you hit go, and tickets are… gone! How can that be?

The answer is ticket bots. Ticket bots are moving faster than ever – snatching up the best seats at great prices, all in a matter of seconds.

Ticketmaster is committed to fighting bots and getting more tickets into the hands of fans at prices set by the artist, show, or team. This is why we created the Ticketmaster Smart Queue, which powers the latest way to shop for tickets to popular events while keeping bots out.

The Smart Queue acts a ‘virtual line,’ which helps us protect you and tickets in a more effective way. By layering advanced security measures, monitoring traffic, and adding a virtual line, you can now view the entire venue and pick the exact seats you want to buy.

How the Smart Queue works:

  1. Go to Ticketmaster and locate the event* you want to shop for.
  2. Join the Waiting Room at least 10 minutes prior to the event going on sale.
  3. When the sale begins, the Queue will open and you’ll be given a place in line.
  4. Once it’s your turn to shop, you’ll use the map to select your seats and then proceed to checkout. Please note, tickets are available first-come, first-served, and not guaranteed.

Shopping Tip: If you’re planning to shop for an event on your mobile device, don’t allow your screen to dim or your Waiting Room will pause. Also, resist the urge to refresh. Your page will automatically refresh when you enter the Queue.

For a smoother shopping experience, we recommend:

  • Signing in to your Ticketmaster account at least 10 minutes in advance of joining the Waiting Room. This will speed up your purchase later.
  • Confirm you have a valid form of payment in your account with current email and billing information. This will make checkout a breeze.
  • If you need to step away, turn up the volume on your device so when it’s your turn, you hear the Queue notification bell.

Commonly Asked Questions

Why is there a Smart Queue?

It’s there to keep out the bots so every fan gets a fair chance at tickets. Previously, everyone entered the shopping experience at once. Since automated bots are faster than a real, human fan, they can scoop up tickets before fans are able to shop and checkout. This results in tickets being sold out in a matter of minutes. With Smart Queue, we manage the flow of traffic into the shopping experience while simultaneously detecting bots and reducing their access. This gives you a more fair chance, since you’re only competing against other real, human fans for the same seats.

Is anything different when I shop for tickets with the Smart Queue?

Yes. An improved shopping experience. When we use the Queue, we introduce a virtual line that manages traffic flow and eliminates the crazy rush of everyone shopping at once. This gives you more time to shop and the freedom to view the entire venue and pick the exact seats you want to buy. The one thing that having a Queue won’t change is that tickets are still available first-come, first-served and not guaranteed.

Do I have to stay on the page the entire time?

Yes. While you’re in the Queue, your spot will be automatically and frequently refreshed, so please don’t refresh, close, or leave the page. While it’s a better idea to keep your device nearby, if you need to step away we recommend turning up the volume on your device. This way, if your turn begins while you’re still away, you’ll hear the notification bell from the Queue. When it’s your turn, your spot will be held for 10 minutes to begin shopping.

Is there a set time I will get ticket access?

No, a set time is not guaranteed. Since this new process allows fans to scope out the venue and shop for the best ticket for them, there may be a longer wait than you’ve experienced before. Because we don’t want fans to feel rushed, we’ll only allow more people in when space opens up and will keep you updated on your status along the way. Remember to watch your page, as the Queue can move quicker than expected and your turn can come at any moment.

Can I skip the Queue?

No, the Queue may not be skipped. It’s set up to protect you from ticket bots, and because you can pick your exact seats from a venue map, provides a much better shopping experience for you.

Will I get tickets if I have a spot in the Queue?

Just like before, tickets are always based on availability, demand, and are not guaranteed.

* Events using the Smart Queue may vary due to traffic and demand that impact wait times.

5 Tips for Going to a Concert Alone
