how to find the best seats on ticketmaster, use Ticketmaster interactive seat maps ISM

Finding the exact seats you want for your next show, game, or performance is essential, and our interactive seat maps make it easy. The pressure can be intense when the clock is ticking and other fans may be trying to buy the same tickets as you. We get it – so here are a few simple tips that’ll have you using interactive seat maps like a pro.

Explore Ticketmaster Interactive Seat Maps

The Ticketmaster interactive seat maps show you all available tickets, all in one place – including resale tickets sold by fans, VIP packages, and accessible seats.

To get started simply click on a section to zoom in on seats. Toggle left and right, and zoom in and out as needed to navigate around the venue. You can hover over a seat to see the price/details, and you can click a seat to select it (review selected seats directly below the map). If you click a seat being resold by a fan, you might see a popup first – simply select the ticket quantity you want and click “Buy”. If you see special offers, learn more about the offer by clicking the “?” next to the offer displayed.

One important thing to note: seats you select aren’t officially reserved (i.e., other fans can still buy them) until you click “Buy Tickets” and pass the security check.

Offer Codes & Passwords

If you have an offer/presale code, enter it in the offer code box to unlock the offer on the map. If you have multiple codes, enter and submit them one at a time.

Tip: Check out a variety of ticket presale options here to get the best offers & seats.

Power User Filters

  • Pricing: Depending on the event use the price slider or the price dropdown to highlight seats in a specific price range (seats that match will be dark blue).
  • Special Offers & Ticket Types: If special offers or different ticket types are available, narrow your search by clicking on the specific items that interest you. NOTE: You can only view a locked offer once you have entered the appropriate offer code.
  • Resale: You can see 100% verified fan-to-fan resale right on interactive seat maps too (available for select events). You can turn off fan-to-fan resale above the map.

Tip: If you’re in a hurry, click “Find Seats For Me” and then use the simple dropdown(s) to have us find the best available seats for you fast.

Review & Buy Tickets

To review your selected seats, click “Show Details” directly below the map. Remember – seats you select aren’t officially reserved for you until you click “Buy Tickets” and pass the security check. When you’re done selecting your seats and ready to check out, click “Buy Tickets”.

Log in to use your Facebook account with Ticketmaster so you can see where your friends and family are sitting. Tag your own seat and even friends’ seats to keep your whole crew in the loop.

We plan to make interactive seat maps available for as many events as possible. High-demand events are the exception. When a popular event first goes on sale, tons of fans try to buy tickets at the same time. The interactive seat map is off because we can find seats for you faster to boost your chances of getting in.

The Rundown on Cell Phone Etiquette for Live Events

Ticketmaster mobile ticket edm festival

If you’ve been to a concert, game, or performance lately you probably noticed that most people have the same thing in their hands: a smartphone. Our devices have become indispensable, so it’s no surprise people break them out at live events to record and share memories as well as gain entry in with the Ticketmaster app. But there are definitely some cell phone best practices for live events that can help make the experience better for you and everyone around you. Check out the pointers below and be a shining example of cell phone etiquette at your next live event – your neighbors will thank you.

1. Turn your screen brightness down if you plan to use your phone in a dark setting. A super bright screen can be distracting, especially at indoor and intimate venues or events in the evening.

2. Try not to yell or talk on your phone during the action. Nobody wants to hear your convo during an awesome concert moment or in game action, so give yourself a little privacy and head to another area when you need to take a call.

3. If you plan to take photos or videos, go for it. But think twice before doing it the entire show – you’ll fluster your neighbors and you may miss some special live moments if you’re glued to your screen all night.

4. Getting caught up in the action is great and what the live experience is all about, but try to make a habit of checking around and over your shoulder to make sure you’re not the last person standing. If it happens, no worries, just take a seat.

5. Put your iPad down. Seriously, it’s definitely blocking someone. The camera on your phone is just as good, and so much smaller.

6. Selfie sticks are useful and funny, but we can all agree that a giant wand blocking the view is no fun. Check out the event’s mobile device policy ahead of time to make sure you’re abiding by rules and restrictions (pay special attention to what’s allowed in and not allowed). For example, some music festivals are starting to ban selfie sticks, so make sure to double check what’s allowed in so there are no issues at the gate.

7. Don’t get stressed if spotty service is impacting your photos and videos posting. #Latergram. Enjoy the moment!

8. Be respectful of others’ privacy. Taking pics or vids of people at events to make fun of them puts a damper on the experience for everyone.

9. Forgot your lighter? Keep your smartphone flashlights off please, unless of course the artist or performer asks you to turn them on.

10. Stay connected with your group by making sure you have enough battery life to last you through longer events like festivals or games that go into overtime. Preserve your battery by turning on airplane mode, lowering the brightness on your screen, and closing background apps. This will ensure you have enough juice to reconnect if you get separated or need to coordinate activities after.

5 Tips for Going to a Concert Alone

$

0
going to a concert alone tips

Contrary to popular belief, going to a concert alone can be a rewarding experience. In fact, in many ways, it’s better to go it alone than to attend with friends.

Use these simple tips (illustrated with GIFs from our favorite comedy TV shows) and you’ll be sure to have a great time flying solo at your next concert.

Tip #1: Don’t Over Think It

via GIPHY

When you arrive at the concert, and you’re standing around by yourself, it’s only natural to feel out of place. But as Patrick McNamara of Vice puts it, “nobody cares”. In fact, most people won’t even notice you’re by yourself. They’re paying attention to the music, not to you. So get over it and enjoy the show.

Tip #2: Stay On The Move

via GIPHY

If you’re unable to get over the fact that you’re alone, a simple solution is to keep moving. Assuming your concert doesn’t have assigned seating, staying on the go is easy. And if someone is actually paying attention to you (which they’re most certainly not) they won’t have time to establish that you’re by yourself.

Tip #3: Use It As An Excuse To Socialize

via GIPHY

So you couldn’t get any friends to go to the concert with you. Sounds like your friends are lame. Just kidding! Luckily, the concert is a great way to meet new people. And since everyone there is probably interested in the same band or from the local area, you already have something to talk about and break the ice with.

Tip #4: Just Make Something Up

via GIPHY

If you’re really that embarrassed about attending alone, and someone actually asks you about it, just lie. “I’m covering the show for (insert local music blog here)” or “My girlfriend had to cancel at the last minute because she had a photo shoot in Paris… you know because she’s a super model” are both popular options, but feel free to get creative. Most likely you won’t need to come up with any excuses, but just having one prepared in your head might help make you feel more confident in the crowd.

Tip #5: Be Present

via GIPHY

It’s important to note that all of the previous tips are predicated on the simple truth that live music brings people together, and you belong here just as much as anyone else. So go for it. Go to the show, start a conversation, and jam out to your favorite song without any distractions. And don’t go staring at your phone’s screen the entire time because you’re nervous. You deserve to have a great time, so keep your head up!

How to Pump Up Family Fun with Kid-Friendly Events

$
0
0

Stuck in the same old routine of always taking your kids and tweens to the movies? We totally get it, and Rich W.–Ticketmaster staff member and father of four–can especially relate. His sage advice below involves a healthy dose of events to liven up your time together and create one of a kind memories. We picked his brain about fun ideas, event planning, and kid-friendly activities that can help you get the most out of quality family time.

TICKETMASTER: What are some general tips for parents looking for family-fun ideas?

RICH: First, remember that live events are an option. We often fall into the “movie trap” because it is the easiest thing to do. Unfortunately there is ZERO interaction there and you really aren’t building a relationship between family members. Second, a lot of the family shows realize that taking an entire family can get expensive, so you can typically find deals with family events. That’s why I like what has been done with Minimaster…you are actually calling out Ticket Deals in a really intuitive way.

TICKETMASTER: How do you discover upcoming events for your family?

RICH: The Ticketmaster Ticket Alerts have improved so drastically, we’re getting better and better recommendations in the email. Also, word of mouth from the children–that’s typically how we find out about the Disney events. Someone at school tells them about the event and they start asking, “Can we go too”?

TICKETMASTER: What advice can you give parents planning a family outing around live entertainment?

RICH: We try to really make it an event…like a “date” with our children. We do dinner. We budget money so that we can get them a keepsake. We do something to record the memory, either through a journal or pictures. We don’t just want it to be fun in the now, we want them to be able to point back and reminisce on the experience, to bring those feelings back and continue to strengthen our family bonds in the future.

TICKETMASTER: Do your kids have any preferences when you go out to a live event together?

RICH: They love to take home a souvenir. For the Disney events it is usually a wand, hat, or commemorative cup. They also like to get the character pictures when available to put in their rooms. With baseball we get seats near the home dugout so when a ball gets scuffed up or something they toss it to the kids in the stands. So every single one of my children has a baseball in a display case that has an inscription of the date and the teams.

TICKETMASTER: What are some of the best events you’ve gone to with your family?

RICH: Disney on Ice or Disney Broadway Shows—We go to a lot of these because it is Disney and our children know the stories. Kids seem to really enjoy it when they are presented in a different format. For example, we live in Arizona, so watching an ice skater do tricks and jumps always fascinates the kids.

Arizona Diamondbacks—They love the atmosphere. While they might not stay interested in watching the whole game, there are things specifically designed for kids to do at Chase Field. They have a playground area that has things like batting cages and whiffle ball where they can run the bases.

The Piano Guys—We watched the Christmas show and the kids absolutely loved it. It also got them wanting to practice their musical instruments a lot more.

Theatre Development Fund Brings Autism-Friendly Shows to the Stage

Autism Theatre Initiative The Lion King

The magic of live theater should be accessible to everyone, and the Theatre Development Fund (TDF) takes that mission to heart. The TDF’s Autism Theatre Initiative brings autism-friendly performances to Broadway throughout the year, providing affordable events that specifically cater to people on the autism spectrum.

We recently sat down with David Leshay of the TDF to learn more about the program. Check out the interview below to learn more about what makes a performance autism-friendly and discover some upcoming autism-friendly shows. Interested in attending an event? Head over to the Autism Theatre Initiative site (and Blue Man Group Autism Speak site) to pick up tickets.

TICKETMASTER: What is the Theatre Development Fund’s role in these autism-friendly events?

DAVID: What TDF does is purchase the entire house for a specific performance. They then sell those tickets at affordable prices to families with children or adults on the autism spectrum. There are people who have signed up at TDF’s website to hear about when these special performances are scheduled and when tickets go on sale.

Having an entire theater of people who understand what it is like to be on the autism spectrum creates a friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere where people don’t have to worry about being admonished for behavior that is not within their control. TDF works closely with the production to tone down some loud sounds and harsh lighting cues so as to not make it uncomfortable for some people on the spectrum who are sensitive to intense sound and light.

Within the theater itself, TDF sets up special activity areas and quiet areas if someone needs to leave the performance for a few minutes. The men’s and women’s restrooms become “family restrooms” so parents can go in with their children when needed.

Additionally, TDF has over 40 volunteers at performances helping the families any way they can. The cast members and theater staff are also given special training so they can better understand the needs of the audience and what to expect.

TICKETMASTER: What tend to be the most rewarding moments for eventgoers?

DAVID: What seems to be very special are the times the cast does a post-performance discussion. Not everyone stays, but those who do have appreciated being able to directly meet the cast and ask questions. These are often very moving and emotional.

TICKETMASTER: How do you get the word out about autism-friendly events?

DAVID: We have a list of folks who want to hear about these special performances. Many are going for the first time and some go to every performance with their families as, for some, it is the only time they feel safe at a public performance with their children. Often the shows sell out in one or two days as the demand is high and seating is limited. Autism organizations also post about it on social media sites like Twitter and that often helps get the word out.

TICKETMASTER: Can you recommend some sources for finding autism-friendly events?

DAVID: Autism Speaks: autismspeaks.org

TDF’s Autism Theatre Initiative: tdf.org/autism.

In the fall of 2015 TDF in association with The Broadway League will be launching a new site, Theatre Access NYC (www.theatreaccess.nyc), which will serve as a one-stop website for accessible Broadway performances for theatergoers with disabilities.

TICKETMASTER: What are some great upcoming autism-friendly performances?

DAVID: TDF’s Autism Theatre Initiative’s (ATI) upcoming autism-friendly performances are matinee performances of “Wicked” on Sunday February 7, 2016, and “Aladdin” on Sunday, March 6.

A big thanks to David Leshay of the TDF for the great information. In addition to the upcoming autism-friendly shows mentioned above, each Blue Man Group location will perform an autism-friendly show in 2015 (blueman.com/autismspeaks), here are shows that are coming up:

Chicago – Oct. 4th – 4pm
Orlando – Dec. 5 & 6th  – 6pm
